Delta Kate Pull Down Kitchen Faucet Brushed Nickel - Single Handle High Arc Sink Faucet with Soap Dispenser & Sprayer (Model 16970-SSSD-DST) - Perfect for Modern Kitchens, Restaurant Prep Areas & Wet Bars

Replaced a 17 year old faucet on our kitchen sink. Installation was straight forward and the faucet works great. I had a 3 hole set up on our granite counter tops but this worked perfect and I bought hole plugs sold on Amazon to cap the 2 holes not used.For the negative reviews I think those would be from people that can not read or watch a youtube video. Do yourself a favor and keep the weight from the old faucet (if replacing one) and double up on the retraction weights. The nozzle pulls out nicely and "zips" right back where it belongs when I let it go. This was way cheaper than buying a 3 hole replacement.I recently purchased and installed the "Delta Faucet Kate Single-Handle Kitchen Sink Faucet with Pull Down Sprayer, Soap Dispenser and Magnetic Docking Spray Head, Chrome 16970-SD-DST", after purchasing on Amazon through Delta. See attached pictures. The new Delta replaced an old Price Pfister Avalon Single-Handle Kitchen Faucet.The kitchen sink is double basin stainless steel (fairly thin material) and has 4 holes. The new Delta Kate faucet only required 3 of the 4 holes since the sprayer pulls down from the main faucet, instead of a separate sprayer (I ordered a Tatuo Sink Tap Hole Cover Kitchen Faucet Hole Cover Stainless Steel 1.2 to 1.6 Inch in Diameter to cover the 4th hole) as can be seen in the pictures on the far right side.If you are installing the Delta Kate faucet in a thin material sink like stainless steel, you will need the stabilization / isolation plate (not included in the $160.00 faucet box / parts) I was able to find and order the stabilization plate "Delta part number RP37490" from Amazon as well. This is a thick piece of plastic with 3 holes that goes under the stainless steel sink to "firm up" and help distribute the weight / sturdiness of the Delta faucet being installed on top. (I attached a picture under the sink showing the stabilization plate-- 3rd picture showing black plate). Not to say you cant install this faucet without it, but the faucet may bend the thin stainless steel without it. If you war installing this faucet in garnet or quarts counter top, the plate is not necessary (as that type of sink / material is fairly thick and sturdy to begin with).Overall, I am happy with the faucet so far-- the install was fairly easy (about 45 min for me), once the old faucet was removed (honestly think it took me more time to remove the old faucet then install the new one).The install instructions are sometimes hard to follow (no overall parts list with pictures), and the instructions cover several different models of faucet (so some steps apply to the Delta Kate model, and some do not).The hot/cold water connection hoses from the Delta faucet are about 2 feet long and like a PVC/Rubber bendable material (which you can shorten if required).I would point out that the 2 water connection hoses from the Delta faucet are 3/8" and can connect directly to your hot/cold water lines if they have 3/8" fittings. (if your water line connections are a different size, you may need adaptors).Overall I am satisfied with the Delta faucet and the install.My recommendations to Delta:I would like to see the Stabilization plate packaged with the faucet or perhaps during checkout (recommend that for stainless steel sinks the stabilization plate should also be added/purchased). Perhaps make the soap dispenser pump handle metal as the facute and water control handles (as opposed to plastic, as soap dispenser plastic handle seems like it could easily break or crack if it gets hit when cleaning a large pot or pan). Consider making the water connection lines with braided flexible water hose connecters. Organize install instructions by specific faucet model so the steps are followed in a logical order. (currently there are multiple steps inter mixed like step 2a, b and c but step b and c apply to a different Delta faucet model etc... some steps refer to removing the water aerator from the faucet end, and the box includes a tool to do this. However, the Delta Kate model does not have an aerator in the end of the faucet-- since this model has a retractable magnetic docking spray head).I bought the Delta faucet (as opposed to lower cost brands) for quality and lifetime warranty. So please keep the quality to a high standard. I would rather pay a few more dollars for a better quality product, and do not want to replace the faucet for 20 or 30 years :)Plumber who installed said it was the easiest system he had ever done. Was completed in less than an hour.The shipping box was horrible!! I was surpized it wasn't damaged. The second worse shippment thu AMAZON I ever had!!!!Very attractive works perfectly,great faucetI'm pleased with how the faucet looks! I installed it myself, and other than the usual grunting and working upside down, it went well. The faucet looks very nice, it fit the existing holes, no problem. I replaced an older faucet that left two holes in the granite. I didn't want to put a cap over one hole, so my option was to purchase a faucet with the stem and handle separate. The choices were limited, but I do like the looks of this one. It is a bit difficult to adjust the temperature, going from screaming hot to cold with one little nudge. But i'm slowly getting used to working with it. I would recommend this faucet.Faucet is great, had it installed for a month or two now.Installation wasn't too bad, but the instructions are confusing. Eventually figured out that it was one set of instructions for 2 or 3 different models...so you just have to figure out which steps to omit.We wanted to replace our old kitchen faucet and could not find one that is the right fit in Home Depot or Lowe's. Thank goodness for Amazon. Ordered this item. Arrived on time and my husband installed within 2 hours! I am a happy wife! Highly recommend.Update: faucet still works great, Amazon customer service not so much. A little over a week after purchasing and having installed the faucet, the price dropped $150 CAD and the only option Amazon could offer was for me to order again and return the one I just purchased and installed. This is completely unnecessary, my time and effort to remove and repackage.....shipping costs.....not to mention the carbon footprint this pricing policy must result in, and product shrinkage as well. Amazon should reconsider. Word of advice, consider going to a box store for these types of expensive purchases, they will be more likely to honour a 30 day price match. Last time I buy something like this from amazon, and have $300 worth in a cart ready to purchase but now I will go elsewhere!Great faucet, very simple installation. Looks great and good quality construction. My only two issues are that the I’m very disappointed that the soap dispenser head is not stainless steel, it is plastic, and the bottle opening is very small so it takes forever to fill from the top without going under the sink to remove the bottle which I don’t think they intend you to have to do. The other issue is the water temperature adjustment does not have a large range of motion and this is very touchy to get the water temp you are looking for, not great for little kids. Otherwise the fit and finish on the faucet and lever are top notch, it looks amazing, and install was very easy and straight forward. My wife is ecstatic with it.I purchased this faucet for my grandfather as his existing delta faucet was getting to that age (10 Years) and it had began leaking from the sprayer hose internally there was no available warranty on his current faucet and the replacement hose was over $100.00 CAD. This faucet was the modern version of the faucet he currently has which was nice since it has the separate handle so I would not have to worry about the 2nd hole left if we changed faucet styles. Price was not great but I know delta is a little more pricey than other brands shipping was fast and great, however once I opened the box I was shocked to see that it had been opened already. The box looked perfect and it still had the nylon straps so initially I had no suspicions however I am a licensed plumber and have learned over the years to never install a fixture without inspecting it first. Good thing I did since all of the chrome was covered in watermarks and finger prints and the "Sealed air" paper package was wide open, although everything looks to be there and in good working order I would NEVER install a product someone has tampered with especially something that connects to pressure water lines! Before writing this review I went back and double checked the amazon order page to ensure I did not miss any information potentially saying "Like new" or "open box" I did not see anything like that. So I unfortunately have to leave a one star review due to the negligence of amazon sending me this product in the condition it is in, also leaves me to wonder how many insurance claims have been made from product sales like this.The fitting came apart (doesn't screw together) and so we had a leak and ruined our floors. And there is no solid centre-off, you just kinda have to play with it. More often than not, it leaks. And now it's making a rubbing sound whenever we turn it on. It's only three months old.Buyers Please beware of what you buy of each kitchen sinks off Amazon.Will never buy off any kitchen sinks off Amazon again since this is a complete rip off of paying $270 for this without each parts that aren't packed and goes missing since AMAZON REFUSES FOR REFUND.I RECOMMEND BUYING THE KITCHEN FAUCET SINKS FROM SOME OTHER LOCAL HARDWARE STOREShard to close ( always dripping), no water pressure(to much of water reduction) no water volume take an eternity to fill sink to make dishes of fil a bowl for cooking pasta... Soap dispenser have a to small hole to be fill easily by the head of it. It is not a well made DELTA product.
